Urban Futures Institute
The Urban Futures Institute, a non-profit membership society, carries out research
and provides public information on changes affecting population, community change
and land use in Canada. Since its inception in the summer of 1996, the Institute
has made over 300 presentations, and prepared 75 reports, on the reasons for
and implications of community growth and change. The presentations have been
made to audiences that have included local, regional, provincial, and federal
government agencies; high school, university and college students; banks and
credit unions, pension plans and insurance companies; community groups, land
use and social planners, and home builders; industry, professional and trade
associations; and fund raising and community service organizations.
